Where Reality Turns into Images

"Nowadays, being observed and sharing data is part of our lives, it is something we have become accustomed to. Apps that encourage self-tracking such as Google Maps and others that know our tastes and preferences through algorithms such as Instagram or Tik Tok, of which we ourselves are both the consumer and the product. They accompany us, forming non-tangible microworlds within a screen that absorbs us from reality. We are increasingly opening ourselves up to the public, other users like us. We open ourselves individually, but collectively. We build immaterial walls of sociability. This video installation, where it is reflected, is based on the premise made by Guy Debord in The Society of the Spectacle, ""where reality is transformed into simple images, simple images are transformed into reality"", to create an architecture around the intangible world that is the network, intertwining the terms identity, archive and image. Images come and go, crashing against the walls of the wall, trying to go beyond it but without managing to do so, some following the same pattern of movement as others, marked with ribbons. Images taken from the personal archive, some with greater meaning than others but insignificant if we consider the visual overabundance to which we are subjected on a daily basis. It also contains a subliminal message, the appearance of an avatar where they all converge, an instant that can only be appreciated if you decide to stop and snoop on that identity on the net, which in reality is not so different from the others in this hyper-connected world."
