Olatz Ovejero

Olatz Ovejero is an emerging filmmaker from Navarre. She graduated in Audiovisual Communication (UNAV, 2019) and holds a master’s degree in Theory and Practice of Creative Documentary (UAB, 2020) and in Humanities: Art, Literature and Contemporary Culture (UOC, 2021). Her first short film “A cambio de tu vida” (2020), premiered at ZINEBI, has won awards at Doclisboa, Alcances and Festival de Huesca. It has also been selected by the ICAA for its 2cool4school space, part of the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival. Her next short film “Hiru bider” has been awarded a grant for an international residency by the Huarte Contemporary Art Centre in L’Aquila Reale (Licenza, Rome). She has participated in non-fiction meetings and film festivals, and has published feminist articles. She is currently working on her doctoral thesis “Genealogies of invisibility. The case of María Luisa Elío and Mirentxu Loiarte: En el balcón vacío (1962), Irrintzi (1978), Euskal Emakumeak (1981).
