Daniel Blaufuks

Daniel Blaufuks has worked on the relationship between public and private memory, one of the constant questions in his work as a visual artist. He has exhibited widely in museums, private galleries and festivals, and works primarily in photography and video, presenting his work through books, installations and films. He holds a PhD from the University of Wales, where he wrote about photography and film in relation to the work of W.G. Sebald and Georges Perec, and in relation to memory and the Holocaust. He has extensive teaching experience, was one of the co-founders of Maumaus in Lisbon and has taught at ARCO, Lisbon, Atelier de Lisboa, Escola de Belas Artes and Universidade Católica de Lisboa. He has given masterclasses at the University of Wales, the University of Minneapolis, Holyhoke College and Smith College in Massachusetts, the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and the Université Paris 8, among others.
