Andrés Sanjurjo

Andrés Sanjurjo graduated in Audiovisual Communication and continued his studies with the Master’s Degree in Creative Documentary and the Master’s Degree in Contemporary Film and Audiovisual Studies, both at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He took workshops with filmmakers such as Abbas Kiarostami, Víctor Erice, Jodie Mack and Boris Lehman and critics such as Jonathan Rosembaum and Roger Koza. He worked as Production Manager in Matadero (2022) directed by Santiago Fillol, was Second Assistant Director in O Que Arde (2019) by Óliver Laxe, and first assistant director in Á Procura da estrela by Carlos Mártinez-Peñalver. In 2019 he founded his own production company, Acariño Films, to self-produce his first feature film, Alén Mar. With the desire to share her experience with emerging filmmakers, she co-produced Los saldos (2022) with Raúl Capdevila. He is currently developing his second feature film, Esmola, and the new works of Raúl Capdevila, Grisgrís, and Álvaro Chior, Proto.
