— Spanish premiere —

Fulldome | Sound | Color | 11’ | 2018

[ARTWORK]

The piece is a fusion of cultures and technology. A snapshot into the constant cycle of transition and change. Five dancers move from industrial landscapes to coastal landscapes, in South Wales, Delhi and Goa. The piece highlights the similarities these two countries share, and the changing relationship as India supports Wales with its industrial might. The cultural residue left by colonialism in India is moving into a new phase. The ritualised movements of dance in a 360º immersive environment conjure feelings of something much older than civilisation. A connection to the unrelenting cycle of creation, being harnessed through motion.

Emersive

Collective ARCAAN

— Spanish premiere —

Fulldome | Sound | Color | 5’ 23’’ | 2020

[ARTWORK]

Emersive is a 360° mesmerized experience in a 3D parallel futuristic universe. Composed of a single sequence camera shot, this film offers to cross borders with an exploration of several spaces of microcosms surrounding us through grids, low poly, fractal forms and bright colors. Like a choreography, it makes the spectator slide in a long hypnotic sequence shot requiring the camera movement to adapt: rotation, fall, rise, advance, retreat. The soundtrack, combined with audio archives, reminds the contribution of scientific discoveries and technological evolutions in our society, improving our environment through digital during this hypnotic trip.

Wansui

Alex Hager and Shaoyu Su

— World premiere —

Fulldome | Sound | Color | 5’ 32’’ | 2016

[ARTWORK]

Wan Sui is an ancient Chinese phrase wishing you a life ten thousand years long. Ten thousand years is the amount of time which the transuranic waste stored at the Waste Isolation Pilot Project will be a danger to humanity. This video utilizes scientific experiments, video language, animation, and 3D models to create a warning message about handling nuclear waste. It is paramount to come up with a method of informing future generations the implications of nuclear energy. An experiment was created in order to answer the question of whether there is a palatable viewing experience that informs rats about the dangers of living near nuclear waste. The absurdness and irony of this experiment and its intended purpose directs our attention to the kind of monster we have created. This kind of monster will live longer than humans have existed on earth.

[ARTWORK]

SONOLUMIN is a stop-frame animated 360° fulldome film exploring relationships of light, sound, and space.
As a filmmaker currently based in the southeastern United States, these locations represent the environment in which she is based. They are also spaces that encapsulate the past. In the case of the church, the ruins are foundational elements that remain from the historic church – for the driftwood beach they are ruins of trees that have been washed ashore. The significance of these spaces is that they both were previously budding with life and light, and in their current state are remnants of the life they once lived. Through the light based animation my goal is to reactivate these spaces and bring a new life to them.
