Santiago Talavera

Santiago Talavera studied Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid, including a one-year fellowship at Camberwell College of Arts, London. His work has been awarded the best exhibition at the recent 2021 Abierto Valencia or the first prize at the XII Gas Natural Fenosa International Art Show, among others. He has had individual exhibitions in museums such as CEART-Centro de Arte Tomás y Valiente and in national galleries. His work has been exhibited individually and collectively in various institutions, including La Casa Encendida, Centro Centro and Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, Instituto Cervantes in Chicago, as well as various international contemporary art fairs. The central axis of the work of Santiago Talavera is the reflection on the human condition through the investigation of the landscape and its symbolic, narrative and spatial possibilities.

For the Galician section of the festival, we are committed to a heterogeneous selection in terms of styles, formats and profiles, pursuing the traces of a cartography of the inhabited that is projected from the digital, the dystopian, the intimate, the physical and the cultural.
