Alejandra Pombo Su (Santiago de Compostela, 1979) has a degree in Visual Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid. She expanded her academic studies in Barcelona by taking a master’s degree in Digital Arts from Pompeu Fabra University and taking the PEI (Independent Studies Program) taught by MACBA. Doctor of Fine Arts with a thesis on the paradoxes and effects of the introduction of the notion of performance in the field of art, her work as an artist moves in different media, characterized by a search for a new emotional narrative linked to what she calls perencuentro, which focuses on relationships and their complexities.
She participated in projects such as What is Third en la Casa Encendida (2015); First Proforma (MUSAC, 2010); and Mugatxoan (2004-2009) at Laboral, Fundação Serralves and Arteleku. He also did residencies at I-Park Foundation (Connecticut, USA), Atlantic Center for the Arts (Florida, USA), PACT-Zollverein (Essen, Germany), La Casa Encendida, CA2M, el Ranchito in Matadero Madrid, and at the MAC in A Coruña among others. She is currently developing her project Un solo animal with the support of the FMJJ Artistic Residences at La Normal in A Coruña.
