Helen Grace

Helen Grace works in the oscillating space between movement and stillness. She is concerned with rhythm and everyday habits as transformative and creative actions. Her lifetime practice of photography documents the intimacies of quotidian moments and the public space occupations of protest and activism – this small history of political performance and performativity. She dreams of metamorphic and radical democratic possibilities, futures in the present, drawing on the long aesthetic history of such attempts. She is immersed in the archive – personal and public – as an ongoing dynamic source for animation and social/political regeneration.

The Contemporánea section presents a small sample of pieces by the artists Narelle Jubelin, Lúa Gándara and Rodrigo Méndez proposed by three of the galleries that make up the Galician Association of Contemporary Art Galleries: Nordés, Metro and Vilaseco.
